Everything I think I want
A few weeks ago in a Chalkboard post I mentioned that I had found the baby bedding that I wanted and just needed to get it ordered. Guess what? It is still not ordered and in that short amount of time I have changed my mind several times. I chalk it up to pregnancy brain and my lack of ability to make a decision. Not just baby decisions either, I mean; I can't make up my mind about anything. ANYTHING!!!! I have since made up my mind on the baby bedding and really do just need to order it this time. It is not even similar to what I had picked up two weeks ago but I keep coming back to it so I'm going to run with it. There! Decision made.
Ahh......I feel so much better now. Only 1,472 more decisions to go.
I light of all this pregnancy brain and decision making I thought it would be fun to write a post about all of the things I think I want either for baby or myself after he gets here.
Here a just a few of the things I think I have my mind made up on so far.
1. The Baby Jogger Summit X3 This is it...the runner in a world of jogging strollers. This bad boy has all of the bells and whistles. Hand breaks, a wrist strap, swivel/locking wheel with the touch of a button (with most wheels like this you have to bend down to adjust the wheel from locked to swivel), tracking so the wheels stay straight, and from what I hear one of the more comfy strollers for babies, toddlers, and even older children. All the "bells and whistles" come with a pretty price tag too, but I say, "oh so worth it!" Especially because I can't wait to get outside to be walking and running again!!
2. Lil' Luxuries Whirlpool, Bubbling Spa and Shower Aren't you relaxed just looking at this thing? I want to take a bath in there. Necessary? Probably not. Fun? Absolutely.
3. Storksak Olivia Diaper Bag This is one of those things I'm really not finding anything that I love. Everything looks huge or small. This bag is more on the huge end of the scale and comes with another hefty price tag. I probably won't end up with this in my shopping cart anytime soon but the diaper bag decision could be aways down the road for me. If it's not this bag I think I can at least say I want a style of bag that is similar to this.
4. NapNanny This little prize just had a major recall on it. You can read more about it by following the link. Needless to say, it is impossible to find now. From what I've read about the recall, it's seems to stem from carelessness on the purchasers end not anything that the manufacturer did wrong. And again, doesn't it make you want to be a baby? I could take a solid nap in the NapNanny (I might not even need help with that decision!) There are a few alternative/similar items so I might check into those as well.
5. Sophie the Giraffe Say what you want about Sophie here but I've heard and read some pretty grand things about this sweet little giraffe. Teether, toy, something to squeeze. Sophie is the multi purpose baby item must have. Hell, if Baby Brown doesn't like it at least I will have something new to chew on.
I'll revisit this post in a few months to see what decisions I was actually able to make.
Oh and P.S. Pregnancy Brain is real thing....see here!

26 Weeks
And all of the sudden I actually look pregnant!
Maternity clothes? Yes. Still not much though. I don't want to buy anything because I don't know if I will wear anything if I don't need it.
Stretch marks? No, my skin is still holding strong!
Sleep: I sleep just fine. I feel like by biggest battle right now is just getting my brain to shut off.
Best moment this week: More movement and other people getting to either see Charlie moving or feel him moving too. I also got the car seat ordered! Our first major must have purchase!
Miss Anything? Nothing really this week, we got an elliptical so I'm not going as stir crazy from no exercise.
Movement: Yes! He is a little mover!
Food cravings: Nothing really, still loving fruits and veggies, but I wouldn't say it is a craving.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing that I can think of.
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: None.
Symptoms: Still having heartburn and some sinus congestion. If "foot in the rib" counts as a pregnancy symptom, I started having a little of that this week too.
Belly Button in or out? Still in.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: We have an appointment tomorrow and it is always fun to hear that little heart beat. However, I also have to drink the pregnancy Kool-aid tomorrow for the gestational diabetes check and get blood drawn to check for low iron. That part isn't quite as fun. I think I will pass the diabetes test with flying colors but I wouldn't be surprised if they found out that my iron is in fact low. We also should be getting the car seat sometime this week.

25 Weeks

Baby is finally starting to gain some baby fat this week and getting a little chub on him! Who doesn't love a cute little chunk of a baby?
Maternity clothes? Shirts, a few jeans. Shirts are what is starting to get smaller though. Everything seems to be getting shorter.
Stretch marks? Still none, thankfully!
Sleep: I'm still sleeping pretty well. I'm not to uncomfortable yet but I do get up at least once if not twice a night for bathroom breaks!
Best moment this week: I was laying in bed Tuesday night and I actually saw baby moving. My belly looked like it had a worm in it! Such a crazy thing to see, Mark finally got to see it moving last night. Also, I think I have pretty much narrowed down what I want in the way of crib bedding. Oh, and I got registered for a few things too!!!
Miss Anything? Running. I am feeling like I've been so lazy lately and some friends of mine are always at the gym doing things like Insanity classes and interval workouts and I would like to join! It's to cold outside to get out to run or walk and I don't want to get a gym membership right now. In the mean time I try to make up some low impact workouts to do at home. At least I can workout my legs and arms and get my blood flowing a little bit!
Movement: As I type this with my computer in my lap he is kicking at it!! But like I said seeing the movement was the big milestone this week!
Food cravings: Nothing really.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Gender: Sweet baby boy!
Labor Signs: None at all.
Symptoms: Heartburn! If it's true what people say about heartburn and baby hair this little guy is going to have a full head of it!
Belly Button in or out? Still in!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Generally happy. Although I did have a mini hormonal cry fest after I burnt my finger while cooking dinner one night.
Looking forward to: Getting the bedding ordered and starting to piece together other parts of the nursery!

24 Weeks
Total Weight Gain: I haven't weighed again since my last appointment.
Maternity Clothes? Still just the same few things. I really think I need some more shirts though!!
Stretch Marks: Still none, however; I did think I saw one the other day. It was just an indention in my skin from the tank top I had on thankfully.
Sleep: Sleep is good, in fact that is what I spent the majority of my weekend doing.
Best Moment this Week: Laying on the couch the other night and Mark got to feel some serious wiggles! It was a dance party for our little guy.
Miss Anything? A really hot bath sounded great today but that I a big no so warm had to do and it's just not quite the same.

Movement: Yes! All the time.
Food cravings: Fruit and veggies are still delish to me! Hopefully that means we won't have a picky eater and he will like all his veggies later too.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Sometimes the texture of chicken still gets me.
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: None
Symptoms: Heartburn. I've had a small headache all weekend, a little congested, and tired!!! I think Charlie must be having a growth spurt!
Belly Button in or out: In, but it is getting more shallow!

Happy or Moody: Happy, but irritable at the same time. Small things really annoyed me all weekend. Maybe it was just to much time in the house with this cold weather we've been having.
Looking forward to: Work on the nursery, that is if I can muster up the energy. Hopefully I will feel less tired this week.

Baby Boy Brown
Here's Baby Boy from last week's ultrasound. He is happy, healthy and growing like a weed in there!
The pictures didn't scan very well, unfortunately. If I'm going to keep sharing pictures I'm going to have to find a way to share better ones!!

BOY!!...............I don't think there is to much in question here. If you could see the writing on the picture it says "Cheek, Cheek, and It's a boy!!!"

Baby's face. It's fun to see how much he has changed since our 13 week ultrasound.

23 Week Pictures
Here are a few pictures...
I took one in the early part of the day and one later. At first I didn't know which one I wanted to use, then the pictures wouldn't load on Sunday so I decided I would share both.
It is funny to see how your baby bump can change in just a matter of hours. I'm feeling the little man move around soooo much. Pregnancy is such a miracle of an experience. I'm glad that I've been able to document so much about it. Tomorrow I will share the ultrasound pictures from last week.

23 Weeks
For some reason I can't upload pictures from my computer tonight, Blogger must be having an issue. I can't figure anything out to try and make this weeks picture work so I will try posting them tomorrow.
Total weight
gain: At the Dr. on Wednesday I was up a total of eight pounds since we started this journey. This number was definitely not as scary as I was expecting.
Maternity clothes? Same few shirts and pants. More and more of my shirts are beginning to get uncomfortable so we may have to go find some more.
Stretch marks? Nothing yet!
Sleep: Sleep has been great, besides my bladder waking me up at least once a night. Also, once and a while my shoulders and arms will get tingly from laying on my side for to long. I am a side sleeper, always have been, so this has to be pregnancy related.
Best moment this week: Definitely our ultrasound, we found out we are having a boy! Plus it was so fun to see him and see how much he has changed since our first ultrasound. I will post the ultrasound images this week sometime too!
Miss Anything? Being able to button and zip my pants. I'm still using the belly belt on the smallest button and it is about to fall off, this in turn affects the zipper. My zipper is hardly ever up anymore!
Movement: All the time, Charlie has got Daddy's dance moves that is for sure! Maternity clothes? Same few shirts and pants. More and more of my shirts are beginning to get uncomfortable so we may have to go find some more.

Food cravings: No cravings. Fruit sounds the best to me right now though.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, but everything seems to give me heartburn lately.
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: None
Symptoms: Heartburn, it's almost a constant these days. When I don't have it, it's great!
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Finally getting some ideas and starting on the nursery! It's going to be a project so we had better get started!

Old Wives Tales
Tomorrow is the day...the day we FINALLY get to find out whether we are having a boy or a girl.
We've been trying to guess ever since we found out. I thought it would be fun to check and see what the old wives tales said. Here is what they predict:
1. If you have morning sickness or are nausea you will have girl. None at all means a boy. This would probably equal girl for us. I was nauseous a lot at first, now not really. I'm saying GIRL here.
2. A heartbeat over 140 equals girl, below 140 equals boy. We've been running a heartbeat at around 140 to 150 at all of our appointments. So GIRL here.
3. If you crave salty foods it is a boy, craving sweets means a girl. I can't say that I have been craving either but I do seem to have more of a sweet tooth than pre-pregnancy, at least right now. I'm going with GIRL on this one too.
4. If the dark line - linea nigera- stops at your belly button it's a girl. If it goes to your ribs it's a boy. Mine is all the way up, so BOY here.
5. If you are glowing it's a boy. A girl steals beauty. I think my beauty has been stole. I seem to have teenage skin and hair again so I'm saying GIRL here.
6. More hair on your legs, or faster hair growth on your legs means boy. I definitely have to say BOY on this one.
7. If you find yourself more clumsy you will have a boy, normal body movements and control equals a girl. I'm going with BOY on this one.
8. Carrying high means a girl, carrying low means a boy. I feel like everything is pretty high so I'm saying GIRL.
9. Chinese Gender Calendar. This is based on the age of the mother when she got pregnant and the month in which you conceived. This one calculates a BOY for us.
10. Dry hands and cold feet equal a boy. My skin is definitely more dry and my feet are always cold, they were before I got pregnant too. But this ones means BOY for us.
So, we are 50/50 here. The gender predictions split us right in middle. While I'm sure I could keep going and searching Google for any clue. I think it would still be split down the middle. I guess only time will tell.
A year for change.
I can't believe it is here. 2013. A new year, and not only that but the year in which we welcome our little Charlie Brown! A year in which we welcome a whole lot of changes. I'm sure some will be good, others probably not so much, but I'm also sure our favorites will certainly revolve around Baby Brown.
If 2013 goes at the same rate that 2012 did, we will be welcoming our little bundle in no time at all. So we will began the year with the small stuff, changes to the house. Things to prepare both Mark and myself, and the dogs, and everything else for this new little life.
I'm not big on resolutions. I'd rather make myself small goals throughout the year. For right now those goals include: getting organized and de-cluttering, keeping myself and Mark healthy and happy, and enjoying time together before we are a family of three!
I hope the new year is good to all of you! I hope your "changes" will be just as special as ours will be!
Happy New Year Everyone!
