He Smiles

So much has changed since my last post....and how time flies.  I should start posting more frequently but I can't seem to pull myself away from other things to sit down and write.  All of the changes will be discussed in a two month update post on Beau but there is this one thing I just couldn't wait to share.......SMILES!!!!!!

He's been smiling for about a week and a half now but it seems everyday brings a bigger and better smiling face than the last. My little Beau is just to precious for words.

This was the first smile I almost captured...
I thought I'd never get one on camera!

A little bigger!

A little better!

But this by far the best one yet!!!
I'll be back to post more soon!

1 Month

Well, as of last Thursday Beau was a month old.  Yesterday he turned five weeks.  Where is the time going???  I imagine I will be saying this for the rest of my life...

Excuse his evil red eyes...they are really turning blue!

This first month hasn't been exactly what I would call hard but it definitely hasn't been easy either.  I think things will start getting easier though.

We started Beau with breastfeeding but during week three we started adding some formula too.  He started getting very fussy so we decided just to switch him altogether to formula since we knew we would be doing so anyway when I went back to work. We put him on soy and this constipated him and that hasn't helped with his fussiness either.  We are starting him on a new formula this week so hopefully this helps.

As far as an eat/sleep routine goes he is doing pretty well.  He eats about every three to four hours and is generally up only once a night, between 2 and 4.  This makes it so he is up again between 5 and 7 but I can usually get him to go back to sleep and catch a few more zzzz's myself.   It helps to sleep those few extra hours in the morning.  I can already see a shift in the amount of time he is spending awake during the day too so anything helps where sleep is concerned!!

As far as everything else goes Beau is generally pretty easy, don't get me wrong he has thrown a few fits, but  if you can figure out what he wants or needs he calms right down.  (I'm already seeing a difference with his food too.)

I'm not sure what he weighs or how long he is now but he is definitely growing!  He can still fit in some newborn clothes but is still two small for 3 month clothes.  Go figure what we have the least of seems to be clothes in the 0-3 month size. Some other random things below.

Things Beau loves...being wrapped in a blanket, being snuggled, tummy time, chow time, baths, car rides(especially in Dad's noisy diesel truck) and naps on mom's chest.

Things Beau doesn't love...Fighting his sleep (he gets extra cranky when he is so sleepy and won't close his eyes.) Wet diapers, taking shirts off over his head, being left alone for too long or being held for too long it's a fine line between these two.

Here are some of the moments we've captured in these first five weeks.

He lived in just his diaper for about the first
two weeks.  Much easier!!

Please Mom...enough pictures.

Smiling in his sleep.  So funny!

Another sleep smile...He hasn't smiled this big yet
with open eyes.  Just little smirks.

Caught daddy napping with Beau's blanket.

Hello!

We both got a nap in this day!

Soaking up all the sweetness and cuddles I can.

Monster Feet!

Kisses from Kita and Hooch.

Mama and Daddy love you so much Beau.  We can't wait to see what the next month brings!
