Blaire - Two Months

Blaire turned two months on the fifth.  The time went so quickly I can hardly even believe it.  She had her doctors appointment on the sixth and she is still a little bit, still squeezing into some of her newborn clothes even. She weighed 9 pounds 11.5 ounces and was 21.75 inches long. One pound and one inch shorter than her sister was at her two month well check.  This put her in the twelfth percentile for both.

She of course had her immunizations at this appointment and we are fairly certain that she cried more in the course of the hours following than she has since she was born. Poor girl.  Momma didn't do a very great job at getting her Tylenol soon enough after so we will need to be better about that for next time.

She is a great eater, still breastfeeding like a champ.  So strange how it just clicked this time around with her.  She loves to be talked to and walk around the house with her back to your chest so she can see the world.  She is very alert and inquisitive.  She smiles the most of any of our children at this age and is mostly happy.  The only time she gets really fussy is when she is hungry or when she is over tired and when she is over tired of course she fights her sleep the most.  She still isn't a big fan of bath time but we are making progress.

She is very strong. She can hold her head up and has great balance with her torso. She is very close to rolling over from her tummy to her back as well.

We celebrated her first Christmas this month and got some great pictures of her.  I think month three will bring many more new things but my biggest hope is a giggle. Until then.

Blaire - One Month

Blaire Marcey Brown - you are now closer to two months than one. I'm going to try and stay up to date on these monthly posts. In the time that you've been home we've done all the standard newborn stuff: rotated between Momma, Dad, Beau, and Blake's arms, had newborn pictures, sent announcements, and celebrated your first Thanksgiving.  You slept through most of it.

You are a great sleeper and have been since your first night home.  Your cheeks are growing the fastest just like Blake's did. At your two week check up you were 7 pounds 1 ounce and still 19.5 inches long.  I think they really stretched you out in the hospital because at your two day check you only measured 19 and I don't think you got shorter.

Breastfeeding has been a breeze and that is new to mom too. You put yourself on a pretty decent schedule from the time we got home.  I was worried you weren't eating enough but the doctor said as long as you were waking around every four hours that you were fine.

In your first month things that you love include being warm and swaddled.  Beau and Blake didn't like to be swaddled so that has been another new thing. You don't like your bath (probably because it is cold after.) You also get the hiccups all the time and aren't a fan of that. My most favorite thing of the month was a big real smile and you haven't stopped smiling since. I got it on video and it is just the best.

Beau and Blake both just love you and have transitioned really well.  Beau is a pro and Blake just loves that she has little sister now.

You are super strong and very alert. You have very good head control and have been listening to everything we say to you since we left the hospital.

You are the sweetest most relaxed baby and we love you so much.
