Blake - 11 months

I can't keep up around here.  Blake has been 11 months for almost two weeks now.  I can hardly believe we are right around the corner from one!  Time is flying.

She is full blown walking now and tries really hard to run with her brother.  She can climb up on to the couch and then has no idea how to get back down.  She's taken a tumble or two already.  We are working on teaching her to go down on her butt or belly but she doesn't grasp the concept yet.

She is talking more and more.  She says thank you now which is so cute.   Most people might not hear it or understand her but we do. She will also say hello, hi, and we're pretty sure she said Beau the other night.

She still loves her momma and cries when I leave the room.  Not all the time, mostly just at night after a day at daycare.  I think she gets too sleepy.  She would benefit from a short cat nap in the afternoon but she's to afraid she would miss something.

Her sleeping habits are still not great.  She is such a wiggle worm even at night there is no hope for her to stay asleep.  Someday right?

By far the best thing of the month is that her teeth finally came thru.  Probably two weeks after she turned ten months the first one came, and then a week later the second.  Both of them on the bottom. She only went a little while drool free though so I know others aren't far behind!

We are working on planning her first birthday party and look forward to celebrating our girl.  Until then...

First time at the pool.

That belly!

After a Popsicle! Her eyes and lashes are to die for!

First time at the park! She loved the slide.

Always and forever playing in the dog dish!

Blake - 10 Months

Ten months has come and gone.  Blake hit the double digit mark over a week ago, and finding the time to write this let alone get anything done with our busy girl is nearly impossible.  She cries whenever I leave the room! I love that she loves her momma but a girl could use a solo bathroom break every now and then.

She found her legs before her teeth, she took her first steps about a week or so before she hit the ten month mark.  And here we are over a week later and she still has no teeth.  Her teeth are so close, they are sitting right under her gums.  Her legs are a bit wobbly still.  She will take steps but she falls and then goes back to crawling.  She will have it mastered in no time as she gets braver every day, and when she does I think she will be running not walking.

Regardless of teeth or not, she is eating like a champ.  She has tried everything and for the most part has whatever we have for meals, and she seems to like everything.  She definitely likes solids more than baby food. It also seems to be helping to keep her a little bit more full. Whether it is her eating more or just being a little more mobile she has been sleeping better through the night as well.

She's growing like a weed, her little legs are getting long and she has started losing some of her baby fat already.  She is going to be long and skinny just like her brother!  I'm not sure what she weighs or how tall she is.

The funnest thing this month has certainly been the discovery of her voice and laughter. FINALLY!  Beau and Mark chase her around the house and she cracks up.  It is the best sound! She has started saying momma more consistently, along with a lot of baby talk, and uh-oh.  She also claps now and plays peek a boo.  Her personality is starting really starting to show and while she has been a lot of fun I think we are in a lot of trouble!! She is a girl through and through and already throws temper tantrums.

I hope the next month brings teeth, steady walking, and more still more sleep at night.  Until then...

Blake - 9 Month Update

It was a busy month around here, I feel as the weather warms up are schedule gets a little bit more packed.  We celebrated a few birthdays and Blake's first Easter this month.  She made the cutest little bunny.

Blake's well check isn't until Friday so I'm not sure where she is sitting on the growth chart or any of her measurements. I know she is growing by the way her clothes are fitting, her 9 month pants are starting to get a little short. She still seems to love all food, include whatever we are eating around her.  We tried a sippy cup this month (why we waited so long I have no clue.) She did great with it, like she'd been sipping all along. We are starting to give her more water when she eats solid foods and she enjoys it as well.  Blame her momma!

She is still toothless and still not walking.  Both are so close, and while I don't want to wish her life away I sort of want them both just to happen.  I swear there are times you can see her teeth right under her gums.  Poor girl is still drooling all the time and it chaps her mouth and little chin something fierce.  When it comes to walking I think she will be a more content baby when she figures it out.   Don't get me wrong she is a very happy little girl but she gets frustrated with the fact that she can't move fast enough so she will follow you around crawling and crying until you pick her up.  (I know I know someday we will miss it.)

She perfected her wave this month and she also is a chatter box.  Still only saying dada and dog but chattering nonetheless.   We will see Friday what little peanut weighs and what the doctor has to say, but I mainly hope that next month I get to tell you that she is walking with some teeth in her mouth.

Blake - 8 Month Update

Eight months has come and I feel like it is going quickly already.  Blake turned eight months last Monday and it was a big month for our sweet girl. She's got some new tricks up her sleeve but still no teeth. She started waving, dancing, and walking along furniture this month.  Her wave is sort of a full blown arm lift and she won't do it all the time, her dancing on the other hand she has pretty much got that down and loves music.  Her whole face will light up when she hears a good jam! She is moving along furniture at light speed and wants to let go of things so badly.  She will even stand on her own for a minute.  She has twinkle toes and stands on her tip toes a lot, I think once she get a little more flat footed she will be running in no time, and I say running because girl just wants to go!!  I only hope that once she does she will also start sleeping better at night! Yeah, still a terrible sleeper!!!

She has tried pretty much all food and seems to like everything.  She didn't even really mind peas when we gave them to her a second time.  We've been giving her bites of our food as well as she seems to like that better than baby food. Even toothless she can chew her way threw small enough bites. I'm not sure how much she weighs, if I had to guess I would say around 18 pounds.  We won't know for sure until her nine month check up.

In the mean time I guess we will see if the next month brings a tooth or her first steps!

A little hair flip! It's starting to curl.

First nice spring day. She wasn't to sure about the grass.

Blake - 7 Months

Late as usual, but sweet pea turned 7 months last Monday, and it was a big one.  It seemed like overnight our girl went from barely crawling to full blown mobile.  At the six month mark she had crawling figured out but now she is MOVING, quick.  She can also pull her self from sitting to standing with the assistance of anything she can get her hands on.  She's also let go a few times and had  a few solid seconds of free standing before she falls.  If she could just master that little baby core and her tippy toes she would be walking.  Look out Mama and Daddy cause it's coming quick.

I'm not sure where she is for height and weight, my guess is around 16 to 17 pounds and maybe 27 inches long.  She is growing right out of size two diapers, I know because she has gone through more clothes in the past week than in her whole life. It's not that they don't fit they just don't hold!

She still has no teeth but we have  tried some real solids and have tried the majority of baby food flavors now.  She seems much more interested in our food than the baby food. Hopefully that means she will be a good eater.  So far she has tried eggs, Gerber cereal puffs, some bread, avocado, yogurt, sweet peppers and she got her mouth on a piece of pizza.  The pepper and the pizza were her jam and she got mad at me when I took both of them away! She hasn't fully mastered her tongue movement and she seems to have a little gag reflex happening occasionally (especially with peas....girl after my own heart, terrible food, ick!)

Other big things that happened this month: she finally has started to jabber.  She mostly just says dadadadada. At first I didn't think it really meant dad but she said it when Mark walked into the room yesterday, so I guess he wins for first word. She has also said jabbered something that sounded like mom though too! But best of all she has been sleeping all night and not waking until five or six in the morning! And I really hope I didn't just jinx it!

After this month of new I'm wondering what the next month will bring.  Surely teeth and maybe her first steps? I guess we'll find out because this time is flying.

Beau took this sweet picture.

Maybe we have a gymnast in our future.

Blake - 6 Months

My gosh...it's February, almost the middle of it in fact, and my baby girl has been six months for two weeks. SIX MONTHS!!That is half a year people! How is this even possible?  We had her six month check up on Monday and she is healthy, growing, and reaching milestones just as she should be.  They only comment the doc made was that she is a little bit petite (or perfect whatever.)  She was 26 inches long and 15.6 pounds (47th and 31st percentile respectively.) I don't feel like she is petite by any means, she's on her way out of six month clothes and into nine.

Physical milestones are right where they should be.  She has pretty much mastered sitting up on her own. She can go from laying down to almost sitting up on her own too.  She turned six months Friday the 27th and mastered forward army crawling by Sunday.  Up until that point she could only get herself to scoot backwards.  While this is all fine and dandy and she is happy to be able to move she is more content to be standing with your assistance.  She will cruise around in the walker for a while but even that can't keep her happy forever.  Girl just wants to go!!! I don't think she will be crawling for long.   If she could figure out how to pull herself up onto things she would.  It's really only a matter of time before she's running, which means we need to baby proof!!

We started her on solids this month as well, I was hoping that it would help to get her sleeping through the night, but to no avail.  She's just a terrible sleeper.  We'll get there I'm sure but man some days this mama sure would love some sleep. She does enjoy the food though! So far she has tried apples, pears, squash, carrots, and sweet potatoes.  She doesn't seem to really enjoy the texture of any of it but she does like the taste.  We've had the best response with the pears and the squash.  Her favorite is real bits of food in the food pouch.  Apples, strawberries, grapes, and she even gnawed on couple of green beans the other night.  I'm excited to try her on more, maybe if she ever gets any teeth.

Her smiles are the most contagious thing ever, and I hope and pray they stay that way.  I can't get enough of her whole little body just lighting up at things. She loves hitting her daddy in the face, and getting handfuls of mama's hair.   Her brother can make her giggle like crazy, she's got some serious love for that boy (I totally get it, me too!) He loves her equally as much, and has the best names for her.  He calls her Baby C, D, (like he is singing the alphabet), and lately has been referring to her as Baby Lala.  We love you so sweet pea!

Blake 5 Months

Our girl turned 5 months last week, already, geez time flies when you're raising babies. It was a busy busy month with all of the hustle and bustle of the holidays.  We made cookies, decorated a few trees, saw Santa a few times, and celebrated with family.  She trooped her way through Christmas with only a few naps and a smile.  She mostly ate the paper but she was still a ton of fun. Her smile will seriously light up your life!!!!

Her diet still just consists of formula.  We've tried cereal a few times but she has no interest.  She did get a few bites of mashed potatoes on Christmas and she loved them! Girl knows what is right and delicious in this world! I think once we start her on other foods she will love things but I don't think I'm quite ready to introduce all of that yet.  We will probably wait until her six month check up and go from there.

Her biggest milestone of the month was laughing. She is finally laughing and giggling and we got it on camera!!! She didn't pop any teeth this month but she has been teething and is super drooly all the time. She also chews on anything and everything, including her toes.  She found her feet at the beginning of the month. She isn't mobile but she gets closer to crawling everyday.  I think for sure by the six month mark she will be moving. She is also basically sitting up on her own and can go from laying to sitting if she is propped up just a bit. I was getting ready for bed one night and looked out to check up her and she was sitting up just smiling at me.  So proud of herself!

We go for her six month check on the 6th of February so we will see where her height and weight are at then.
