39 Weeks

UPDATE:  As of my doctors appointment Thursday I was dilated 2 centimeters and 50% effaced.  I've also been way more uncomfortable since then! Doctor told me what I already knew "could be any day, or it could still be two weeks, we just don't really know."  I don't feel like it is going to be any day......

Total weight gain: I was up again this week for a total of 17 pounds.
Maternity clothes? Nothing new, but nothing fits.  Today I just ended up wearing a shirt of Mark's that I sort of swim in but I was comfy so I just didn't really care!! Any sort of comfort I can get I will take.
Stretch marks? Yep, they don't seem to be getting to much worse though.
Sleep: Sucky.  There is no way to lay down that is even remotely comfortable for an entire night.  Everything hurts after awhile.
Best moment this week: Soaking up some much needed sunshine yesterday while Mark played softball. It was great!!!
Miss Anything? Comfort, normal clothes, energy, comfort....have I said that yet?
Movement:  Yes, but slower now.  Baby Brown is getting way more squished in there!
Food cravings:  Salads and fruit again.  Mmmmm!!
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope.
Gender:   Boy.
Labor Signs: Nothin...maybe some Braxton-Hicks contractions but nothing major.
Symptoms: I've been congested and stuffy all week.  Some back pain, especially the last two days. I feel like my belly is starting to get so heavy that I compensate with my back and then when my upper back starts hurting I compensate with my lower back and then it hurts.  Also getting anxious.
Belly Button in or out? Still just flat unless he's sitting just right then it does pop out a little.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but tired.
Looking forward to: Meeting this little fella!

38 Weeks

Some days I still have trouble registering that we are already at this point!

Total weight gain: I was back down a pound at this weeks appointment, I think this will probably happen til the end now and my weight will just fluctuate.  The good news is that my doctor didn't say anything about me being small or measuring small.
Maternity clothes? Nothing new.
Stretch marks? Yep, they are there.  Also a good sign that baby boy has grown.  I'm still slathering on oil and/or lotion though.  It helps with the itchiness for sure and the few stretch marks I do have are not red so I think it helps keep them somewhat at bay.
Sleep: Sleep is iffy.  If I can get and stay comfortable it is good, but finding a position that is comfortable is tough!  My hips, and back, well just about everything hurts to stay in one position for too long.
Best moment this week: I got all pre-registered at the hospital and took a little tour of where our hospital stay will take place and where we will welcome baby to the world.  Talk about real life!!! This little visit made things very real!
Miss Anything? Comfort, in so many aspects!
Movement:  Yep, but I do feel like he has slowed down a tad.  Instead of kicks and rolls. It's a lot more squirms and slow turns now.  Once in a while he still throws in a jab or a karate kick though!
Food cravings:  Nothing really.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nothing here either.
Gender:   Boy
Labor Signs: Nothing major.  I feel like I've had a few little twinges here and there but nothing to jump in the car or call the doctor for.
Symptoms: Still having some mild heartburn, maybe a little bit of water retention.  Mainly now though I feel a lot more pressure lower into my pelvis and tightness in my hips and groin area.
Belly Button in or out? Still pretty flat.  If baby is sitting to the sides or higher though it goes back in a tad.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy.
Looking forward to: Getting a few loose ends tied up a work, hopefully getting out of the house a little bit for some fresh air! No more snow! And of course baby's arrival....but secretly I want him to wait until May.  I picked May 4th as my day so he should show up then!!! (Like I have any say!!)

And then it hits you...

Some days it's a subtle tap on the shoulder, other days it's a hard slap to the face.  Some days I think about it a little and other days I a lot.  More and more though it's becoming the slap and I thinking about it a lot.  I'm talking about pregnancy and the fact that this whole experience is about to turn into a whole new one.

I feel like it has gone so fast.  I feel like it was only days ago that I was sitting in the dining room waiting to capture Mark's reaction when I told him the news (maybe because that is a day that I will never really forget.)  People say that the end of pregnancy is the worst.  Everything is uncomfortable and you reach the point where you are just over it. I am definitely starting to agree.  Now that everything at home is done and we are pretty much ready I feel like the time may start dragging.  But with only two weeks left I guess it's a good time for things to slow down.

Unless this little man decides to arrive, I hope to take the next few weeks and just relax and enjoy some quiet time!  Hopefully the weather will perk back up and we can enjoy some sunshine.  Hopefully.....but if he decides to come, I don't think the slap will be that bad!!

37 Weeks

The doctor told me I was still measuring at about 35 cm instead of closer to 37.
I do NOT buy it, this belly is definitely bigger!

Total weight gain: Well, I was back up this week, total weight gain is at 16 pounds right now.
Maternity clothes? Same few things.  I've basically found what is comfortable and just continue to wear those pieces.  When we are home I'm in the biggest sweats I can find.  It's nice to have Mark's clothes handy for this!!
Stretch marks? Unfortunately a few have finally popped through.  Thankfully they are not red at all and are very faint.  If I put coconut oil or vitamin E on them you almost can't see them still.  However, this is proof that baby and belly are both growing!
Sleep:  Sleep has been pretty good surprisingly.  I think I just get so worn out during the day that when I do sit down and let myself doze I'm out for good. I'll take it!
Best moment this week: Everything in the nursery is finally done.  EVERYTHING!  I will do a tour to share but I'm not sure if this will be before or after baby gets here. Bags are packed and ready to go for all of us too. I got a lot of the rest of the house all cleaned up today as well.  It feels nice to cross all the big cleaning tasks off of my to do list.  Now, if I can accomplish that at work as well I will be all set.
Miss Anything? General comfort.
Movement:  Still a wiggle worm, but I feel like movement is slower now.  I think baby boy is getting a little cramped in there.
Food cravings:  Nothing.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No
Gender:
Boy
Labor Signs: None.  Which is good, I need a little more time to get a few more things done!
Symptoms: Mild heartburn, which I'm use to so I don't even know if I can count it anymore.  Tightness (this is the only word I can think to describe it) in my hips and groin area. Things are definitely changing and starting to prepare for the little mans big arrival.
Belly Button in or out? Starting to poke out just a little.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy, unless I get too tired and then I could cry over spilt milk.
Looking forward to: Relaxing at home and getting everything ready for me to leave work.  Once I've got everything set there I will be all set to go for whenever baby is ready. It's so crazy to think my due date is just over two weeks away.

36 Weeks

Total weight gain:  At my appointment on Friday I was back down two pounds (weird), so back to a total of 11. They measured me about a week small again but my doctor isn't worried since the ultrasound showed Baby was right on track last time.
Maternity clothes? Nothing new. I think my wardrobe will consist of what you see in the picture for the next few weeks.
Stretch marks? None, however, my belly has been super itchy since Tuesday or Wednesday.  I can't tell if it is from my shirts being tighter, the dry air, my skin stretching more, or a combination of all of the above but I'm over it!
Sleep: Sleep has been pretty good.  Some nights I get really uncomfortable and others I'm down for the count, no moving til morning.
Best moment this week: Getting the nursery done!  There are still a few little things that I can do but nothing drastic that can't wait until after baby boy gets here either!
Miss Anything? My body......
Movement:  All the time! His little feet just get to kicking under my ribs!  Thankfully he is low enough that I don't take too many right in the rib cage.
Food cravings:  Nothing really.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nothing here either, thankfully.  Everything is uncomfortable enough, I can't imagine feeling sick.
Gender:  Boy
Labor Signs: No labor signs, I don't think anyway.  I think just some more Braxton Hicks contractions today.  Nothing close enough to time or track so I'm not worrying about it too much.
Symptoms: Sleepy!!! It hits me most in the afternoon.  It's hard work carrying this belly around.  Whoever would have thought?!?!
Belly Button in or out? Still just flat, and sometimes when I lay down it goes back in.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy as long as I'm not to tired.  If I'm tired I get pretty irritable and grumpy.
Looking forward to: Getting empty boxes from all things baby out of the house finally.  Since everything is now done and has a home somewhere we can start concentrating on other rooms of our house again!
